Frequently Asked Questions
What's Slate
Slate is a new American company established in 2022 focused on delivering radically affordable, personalizable and reliable electric vehicles. The Slate is an innovative truck platform so customizable that it can transform from a 2-seat pickup to a 5-seat SUV. Slate was founded on a disruptive business model of simplifying the manufacturing process and reindustrializing America.
Why should I opt in?
America has spoken, and we’ve taken well over 100,000 reservations for the Slate Truck to date. We plan to turn those reservations into orders and begin deliveries in late 2026. What’s unique about the Slate truck is that it’s been designed to be accessorized and you’ll have the opportunity to both repair and accessorize Slate vehicles.
How will Slate’s partnership with RepairPal work?
Slate is partnering with RepairPal to establish certification criteria for making repairs, ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality service. We are recruiting shops that are interested in becoming Certified shops to service our customer vehicles.
What does it take to become Certified?
RepairPal will provide information about how to become a Certified shop. Once you’re Certified, you will be able to work on OEM vehicles, with three levels of certification: High Voltage (HV), Low Voltage (LV), and Accessory upfit. Slate will provide additional training, to ensure that Certified shops have the required knowledge to successfully assist our customers.
Where can I learn more and see the Truck?
To support this initiative, we are taking our Truck on the road as part of the countrywide Slate to State roadshow. We hope to meet you in person and answer any questions you have. Additionally, we’ll be hosting virtual seminars for you to learn more.
